Who invented crispy rice spicy tuna?

If you are from Japan or have ever visited Japan might have heard of Maneki restaurant. This restaurant is known for its sushi and sashimi.

During sushi, you may order a spicy tuna crispy rice dish.

Apparently, chefs were frying tuna when they added mayonnaise to it, and it got too spicy for some of their customers, who then asked for a spicy tuna crispy rice dish instead of sushi. And so that’s how the Maneki restaurant starts serving this popular appetizer.

There, customers can order sushi rolls and sashimi as well as rice bowls with a variety of toppings, from avocado to spicy tuna.

Many people like spicy tuna because its heat balances out the sweetness of the avocado.

Therefore, this dish may have originated at a Maneki sushi restaurant by the founder name of Jean Nakayama, in the 1980s.

Is spicy tuna authentic Japanese?

Sushi is the most popular food in Japan, but for some reason, spicy tuna rice has caught on as a dish people love to order at sushi restaurants around the world, especially those located in Asia, like Singapore or Hong Kong.

You will often find this dish at Americanized sushi restaurants as well.

So, even though it’s a traditional Japanese appetizer, it is a popular and delicious one that can be enjoyed by people of all cultures.

We can’t actually say for sure that it’s authentically Japanese, but it’s a dish that has become very popular in Asia and beyond.

However, am I taking much time to get into the recipe? Oops, then, sorry, let’s start with the recipe.
