What is Chinese lemon chicken made of?
Chinese lemon chicken can be incredibly delicious and nutritious if you prepare it correctly.
I can remember as a kid, my mom would cook this dish for us on special occasions, and it always tasted amazing.
It is made up of chicken breasts that have been marinated in a sauce that is made of soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, and garlic.
These ingredients help to tenderize the chicken and give it a delicious citrus flavor.
Afterward, the chicken is cooked in either an oven or a skillet over medium-high heat until it is fully cooked through.

Instructions for Souped Up Recipes-Crispy lemon chicken
First, we need to prepare the chicken breasts.
Cut them into thin strips and season with soy sauce, ginger, garlic powder, black pepper and 1.5 teaspoons of soy sauce.
Leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight if you have the time.
Now, we will bread the chicken pieces
In a large bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of ginger, 2 teaspoons of garlic powder and black pepper.
Mix well before adding in the chicken strips and mix again until coated evenly.
Spread out the chicken pieces across all tray(s).
You can use any type of bread that you like. I used some cornmeal which gave it a nice crunch.
Be sure to coat each piece properly.
It’s time to add the egg to the chicken mixer and mix well.
Set it aside and prepare the sauce
In a separate bowl, combine the soy sauce, cooking wine and lemon juice to taste.
Mix well before pouring it over the chicken pieces.
Pour half of the sauce over the chicken strips, spreading it out evenly with a spoon or your hands.
Be sure to get as much of that crispy breading on each piece as you can.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes, then turn up the heat to high and bake for another 10-15 minutes until chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°C/330 F).
Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving hot.
Garnish with some chopped scallion before devouring.
